Had to replace Ice maker within 6 months

Bought this refrigerator because of it being counter depth and having both door and craft ice makers. The ice makers are great when they are working - but we have already had to replace the door ice maker 3 weeks without ice and have had issues with the craft ice maker where it just stops making ice and needs to be reset. This is the second LG refrigerator that we have had to replace the ice maker within the first year - we expected better quality from LG.

Love the look and features of my LG counter depth fridge - the Craft ice is fun and novel the convertible drawer is perfect for cans and can hold a case easily the water dispenser has volume presets and the door in door allows for even quicker access. Love this fridge

So far I love everything about this refrigerator. The quick reach in door is really handy once you get used to it. We got the counter depth so lost some cubic feet overall but with the drawer we have more than enough space. The craft ice balls are great. It wasnt a must have feature but we really like it. I have had this fridge for seven months and it is the best fridge Ive ever had. The craft ice is perfect for my adult beverages and the mini door works great for just getting milk out. Being counter depth. It still has plenty of room. It looks fantastic and having multiple pull out drawers theres plenty of space for everything we keep refrigerated. I did have an issue with the ice maker in the door but it was resolved quickly with LG awesome customer service.

Nice fridge but some hiccups

Ive had this fridge for a year or two now and the design is great. I enjoy the app integration as it has helped me with multiple warranty repairs that have been needed. My top ice machine stopped working and had to be replaced. Shortly after that the compressor completely died and also had to be replaced. Apparently it was recalled. Regardless of the problems Ive had and perhaps slow ice production its a nice fridge

Pros: Feels like a premium product. LOVE the convertible drawer for my younger kids to have a specific place to go for snacks. Love this fridge and love the drink door and craft ice cubes. We got the counter depth knowing our son will be out of the house soon so it wont be a problem but it is a bit stuffed right now. Top freezer drawer is nice for a baker who occasionally needs to freeze sheets of dough or for parties when you need to refrigerate extra stuff. changing from freezer to fridge in the drawer is fantastic. One thing-it took the water quite a long time to taste normal in ice cubes and water itself. We really started to get worried. But we stuck it out and are really happy with it.

Love it but.......

Overall we like the fridge but Ice maker in door failed after 6 months. AE service showed up to fix it but didnt have parts even though they knew what the problem was. Parts were ordered and still waiting for it to be fixed after almost 2 weeks. Trying to communicate with the service company is useless. Their phone system is all automated no one to talk to find out where the parts are.

Problem with changing water filter.

I gave this refrigerator a 4. I love all the features in mine and so far it has been running fine. The problem I had was on the second time I had to change the water filter the new one would not stay in place when trying to use the water dispenser. After many phone calls to LG and the ingenuity of my neighbor it was finally fixed. The fridg was just over a year old and was not under warranty anymore even though this was a known defect LG was not going to cover the very expensive repair So if this happens to you dont throw out the old filter as you will need it to realign the little teeth inside the the thing that holds the cartridge. My neighbor was able to saw off the little guides on the outside of the cartridge and then use it to turn the teeth to the right position. If you look around there is a YouTube video of how to do this. LG was going to charge a very large fee to have someone come out to evaluate and repair it. Not happy at all.

My New LG Door in Door refrigerator

The week before Christmas our refrigerator died. We had a 10-year-old LG Door in Door and loved it so we went shopping. After checking all current models we found the new DOOR IN DOOR LG SMART WI-FI WITH CRAFT ICE. This model also had a new feature CONVERT DRAWER I absolutely love it. The refrigerator has nice large vegetable / fruit drawers that comfortably hold a variety of vegetables all sizes and shapes. The shelves adjust easily and one has a shelf that can adjust to half width very convenient. The convert drawer may be used just for refrigeration or as a freezer. It has 3 sections with sliding separators so you may adjust easily for the items you wish to put in there. A great feature The freezer also has two shelves. When you pull open the door the second shelf pulls out leaving both accessible spaces instantly available. The bottom shelf has the CRAFT ICE container which holds the large round ice cubes. You can easily set this to make the craft ice or use its space for smaller packages. The choice is yours The water ice or crushed ice feature on the front door so convenient to use. The exterior Control Panel allows you allows you to control all the refrigerator/freezer temperatures the filters connect to Wi Fi if you wish plus more. Last but not least is the non-fingerprint finish leaving your refrigerator so beautifully clean with no smudges at all.

Nice Fridge

I bought this fridge about 2 months ago and have had good experience with it. Everything has worked well and it retains the inside temperature very efficiently. The only gripe I have is the ice production. I had family over and during their stay the ice maker could not keep up with us even after activating icePlus.

Shortly after delivery Ice machines not working replace filters. Signs on all the time. Called company re: repairs. Finally talked with repair service they need to order parts. I am now out of town so fridg sits with no repair until mid March. Very poor communication problem within company.

Over all I love the fridge. The design layout and space is fantastic. I did have to have the craft ice maker replaced after only a few months and I do find a slight frost in my freezer once in a while could be a child leaving the door open. I didnt even realize there was an issue with the craft ice maker until I got an email from my fridge itself and LG made the service call easy

Worst appliance Ive ever owned

This refrigerator has been a nightmare. At first we loved all the features but after a few weeks in our home the compressor started to become extremely loud and was vibrating so badly it was rattling pictures on the walls near our kitchen. After multiple service calls the LG tech finally replaced the compressor and it worked great for about 6 months and then the compressor stopped cooling. The next attempts to get service were a fiasco. LG consistently messed up the appointment scheduling with various 3rd party services they contract with and I spent several days waiting for a tech who never showed despite getting multiple confirmations from LG of the appointment. Finally a tech replaced the compressor again we went without a fridge for 2 weeks and now two weeks after service its back to making the same awful noise and vibrating our house as before. Its a total lemon and at this point I hate it so much I just want it out of my house. I will never own another LG product.

Small irritating problems.

Weve had this unit for just over a year and continue to have small irritating problems. The overlap flap between the french doors needs continuous adjustment or it doesnt close. This leaves a gap so the door is actually open at that point. If we dont notice it the refrigerator just runs and runs to keep the temp. Now the water filter will not stay in place due to a misalignment of the socket. Others have also had this same problem so apparently it is a design flaw.

After much research we decided on the LG Several factors went into that decision: personal recommendations dealer service the convertible drawer and especially the craft ice. We live in a desert area and we found that the craft ice is not only a great presentation but the ice lasts longer than regular cubes. The convertible drawer is much handier that I expected and the way the upper doors open makes accessing the most often used items so very easy. Thanks LG for this well designed product

The shelves in the fridge are to close together for taller bottles and fridge items were forced to lay alot of stuff down both ice makers broke waiting 2 months of owning the refrigerator the freezer drawer does not open far enough to get items in and out easily the best part about this is the separate external drawer
